    Seminar with leading Russian specialists in the field of transport vehicles design and riverboats exploitation will be held as a part of the competition ‘’You can change Moscow’’. Competition is held by a ‘’Territory of Design’’ project on the behalf of ‘’Capitals Shipping Company’’ and it was made in order to find new design solutions for Moscow – type riverboats.

     Discussion participants will discuss design issues of both passenger vehicles as whole and water transport in particular.

     Visual appearance of ships has undergone significant changes since their inception.  Modern technologies offer designers new opportunities for creativity, but technical parameters impose certain obligations. What requirements must be taken into account when working on a design of passenger ships? Is it necessary to strive to find new solutions or shall I chose to improve things that have already been found and proven? These and many other subjects will be discussed by:

The ‘’Territory of Design’’ project and ‘’Capitals shipping company’’ are inviting all interested for an educational excursion on Moscow-type riverboat

‘’Industrial design in practice. Necessity of an innovational approach’’

15^th November 2014. Starts at 12:00

 

     As a part of a competition ‘’You can change Moscow’’ there will be held an excursion to ‘’Capitals shipping company’’ repair and operational base. All designers, architects and specialists interested in constructive and engineering features of riverboats operating on river Moscow are welcomed.

     Participants of the excursion will be able to see riverboats on docks, get insight with a basic functional zones, specific approach in their interior and furniture design and constructive and engineer solutions applied in order to secure safety and comfort of passengers.

     Every single ship must always be carefully designed to the last detail. The hull shape is designed according the laws of hydrodynamics, ensuring salability and stability. Distribution within the body of two main groups of premises (techno – functional and passenger) is conditioned by logics and exploitation ergonomics. Selection of constructive and finishing materials depends of boats class and his future use.

     Besides that, additional systems like multimedia and air-conditioning must be counted with from the beginning. Passenger’s safety and comfort depends of accuracy and thoroughness of an every single element. But, the most important is that those solutions need to form one effective, elegant and positive form of a boat.

     Dmitri Balikov, head of the ‘’Capitals shipping company’’ will lecture participants about all these particular themes.
